They built an AI detector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They were probably two steps away from building a coffee maker too, before someone stopped them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Overview of Good AI<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Their main product is called Ghost AI, which you can find at the-ghost-ai.com, or in the footer of the main Good AI site under \u201cHumanizer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since we\u2019re not focusing on essays specifically, we\u2019ll be homing in on Ghost AI in this article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ghost AI has a tool that functions as both a humanizer and a detector\u2014not two separate ones. Its purpose is to rewrite AI-generated content so it reads more naturally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And simultaneously, it&#8217;s supposed to catch AI-generated content when it sees it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If that sounds contradictory to you, congratulations. You&#8217;re paying attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s like being a locksmith who also teaches people how to pick locks. Sure, you know how both sides operate. But are you really incentivized to make those locks that strong?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Features of Good AI\u2019s Ghost AI<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s talk features. Ghost AI comes with the usual suspects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The Humanizer:<\/strong> Takes your robotic AI prose and makes it sound like a real person wrote it. It <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/collections\/the-ai-dictionary-from-allbusiness-com\/7273980\/definition-of-pattern-recognition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">analyzes patterns<\/a>, adjusts sentence structure, and throws in some variety. Uses machine learning models trained on thousands of examples. Supposedly can spot the telltale signs that separate human writing from AI prose.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bulk Processing:<\/strong> You can feed it multiple documents at once. Helpful if you&#8217;re churning out content at scale and don&#8217;t want to spend your entire day copying and pasting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Browser Extension:<\/strong> Install it directly in your browser for quick access. No need to navigate to their website every time you want to humanize something.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>API Access:<\/strong> For the developers out there who want to integrate this into their own workflows. Because apparently, we&#8217;re all building our own AI ecosystems now.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The interface is clean and simple. Maybe too simple. It&#8217;s got that &#8220;we spent all our money on the backend&#8221; vibe, which isn&#8217;t necessarily bad. You&#8217;d rather have a tool that works than a tool that looks pretty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But what caught our eye was that they play both offense and defense, meaning that they offer both detection <em>and <\/em>humanizing functions in one tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The issue is that their detection model isn\u2019t strong enough to reliably validate the output from their own humanizer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Good AI Pricing and Plans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Good AI\u2019s pricing won\u2019t make you spit out your coffee.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s actually pretty reasonable compared to what else is out there. But since we\u2019re looking at the detector and humanizer today, we\u2019ll focus on the pricing for those tools specifically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Good AI offers two main tiers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Personal Plan<\/strong>: Priced at $9\/month, this plan claims to provide &#8220;unlimited words&#8221; per month. However, a section on their page specifies a 20k-word limit, which creates confusion regarding the actual usage amount. Despite this, the plan includes both AI Humanization and AI Detection, as well as 24\/7 support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>API Plan<\/strong>: This plan includes both AI Humanization and Detection as well, but offers flexible token packages based on word count, starting at $20 for 100,000 words, and scaling up to $1,000 for 10 million words. It\u2019s more suitable for high-volume users.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>While the pricing scales linearly, some users may find the &#8220;unlimited words&#8221; claim misleading due to the 20k-word limit in the fine print.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Good AI provides a straightforward, affordable solution for casual users but may lack clarity for those expecting true &#8220;unlimited&#8221; usage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In comparison to other services, Good AI sits comfortably in the middle. It isn\u2019t the cheapest or most expensive, offering a balanced solution that caters to most users without being particularly remarkable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Good AI Accuracy and Reliability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Okay, time for the fun part. The actual testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We didn&#8217;t just take Good AI&#8217;s word for it. That would be like asking a politician if they&#8217;re trustworthy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, we ran our own tests using a methodology inspired by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/i-tested-10-ai-content-detectors-and-these-5-correctly-identified-ai-text-every-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ZDNet&#8217;s benchmark<\/a> for AI detectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s what we did:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We gathered two sets of content. First set: written by actual humans. Second set: generated entirely by <a href=\"https:\/\/openai.com\/index\/gpt-4-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GPT-4<\/a>. Then we ran both sets through Good AI&#8217;s detector and Undetectable AI&#8217;s detector to see how they performed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We prepared two short samples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Human-written content<\/strong> (original text drafted without AI assistance)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>GPT-generated content<\/strong> (text written entirely by identified the human-written sample as human, while <strong>Good AI\/Ghost AI<\/strong> incorrectly flagged it as AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When testing the GPT-written text, both detectors marked it as AI,
