What Is A Turnitin Similarity Report?

If the student’s writing is similar to one of their works in their database – they’ll increase the similarity score. Most students will have some similarity with works in the database (if they’ve used quotes – for example).
Turnitin will flag the students with a high similarity score. This is their guideline for the similarity report:
- Blue: No matching text
- Green: One word to 24% matching text
- Yellow: 25-49% matching text
- Orange: 50-74% matching text
- Red: 75-100% matching text
Important: If a student uploads multiple versions of a document to the same assignment, the similarity report will not compare to their previous submissions.
