EasyEssay Review: Is It Reliable for Students?

Academic stress is a real thing, and it’s only gotten worse in recent years. 

To lighten their load, many students are turning to AI tools and, in some cases, fully relying on them.

EasyEssay is one of those tools. It promises to generate complete academic papers, essays, and reports in minutes using AI models from OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini.

But does it even perform? Should students invest their time and money in it? And the most important concern of the current times:

Can it generate content that won’t get flagged by AI detectors or your professor?

I decided to put EasyEssay AI to the test myself to evaluate whether the output was actually usable for academic purposes.

In this EasyEssay AI review, I’ll share how my experience was after which you’ll instantly know whether it’s reliable enough for students to use.

What Is EasyEssay AI?

Before we begin, it’s important to clarify one thing.

There are two companies named EasyEssay, and both have completely different business models. One is EasyEssay.ai, which this review is all about.

The other is EasyEssay.us, which has since rebranded to CustomWritings.com.

EasyEssay.us (or CustomWritings) is a human-based service that charges fees for writing essays, papers, and other academic work on your behalf. Since this isn’t an EasyEssay US review, we’ll leave it at that.

EasyEssay.ai (this article’s focus) uses AI models from Gemini, Claude, and OpenAI to generate academic papers and essays for students and professionals based on their prompts. It is much like any popular AI chatbot out there. 

You write a prompt, which could be just the paper’s title, its outline, or detailed requirements, and choose an AI model.

When you press enter, EasyEssay AI follows the prompt and generates your work.

Besides generating content, EasyEssay also has tools for humanizing AI-written content, paraphrasing text, and detecting plagiarism. 

Whether the content it generates is actually usable and passes AI detectors is something we’ll explore further in this review.

Key Features of EasyEssay AI

• EssayAgent: This is what EasyEssay AI is best known for. It generates complete papers based on your prompt. When you give it a topic, it searches for relevant academic papers, aggregates information from them, and populates the different sections of your paper, like executive summary, case studies, conclusion, bibliography, and so on. It can even create charts to use in your papers by analyzing data from research papers.

• AI Remover: EasyEssay AI claims this feature can humanize AI-generated text and make it bypass AI detectors, particularly Turnitin and GPTZero. 

• Easy Writing: This is a writing assistant tool. You paste your text into it, and then you can ask the AI to rephrase sections or expand on certain parts. It also has a built-in plagiarism checker and citation generator.

• Easy Reading: If you’ve used ChatPDF, this tool works the same way. You upload a PDF, and it generates a summary for you. You can then chat with the AI model and ask it questions about the document, like finding specific information or explaining certain sections. 

• Easy PPT: This tool generates presentation outlines in minutes based on your instructions. You can specify the number of slides, word count, and output language, along with your presentation topic and any additional instructions or materials you want to include. 

How EasyEssay AI Works

How EasyEssay AI works depends on which of its tools we are talking about.

Overall, the entire EasyEssay platform is AI-based. 

All its tools use natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning in one way or another.

EasyEssay AI’s flagship feature is its EssayAgent. And as I mentioned earlier, using this feature, you can write full-length papers and essays simply by chatting with the chatbot.

You only have to provide it with the topic, and it starts writing the entire work. You can also provide further instructions, but that’s optional.

The EssayAgent can generate text, charts, and code.

Additional features like rephrasing, expanding paragraphs, and generating citations are available to refine the content and help users complete their work.

Let’s test these EasyEssay AI tools because that’s the best way to find out how they work.

Performance Analysis: Accuracy & Limitations of EasyEssay

My focus with this testing will be the quality of content generated by EasyEssay AI.

For this, I’ll generate content using EasyEssay tools and check its AI score using Undetectable AI’s highly accurate AI detector. 

If its content sounds AI-generated, we’ll have to admit it has no use for its target audience because machine-generated text has no acceptability in academics.

With that, let’s start testing the following two EasyEssay AI tools.

I have considered only the tools that generate long-form content and have free trials, which is why you won’t see the Essay Reading and Easy PPT here. 

EssayAgent also won’t be a part of our testing because it is also a premium feature. For a review of the EssayAgent tool, read what this Reddit user has to say about it.

AI Remover

EasyEssay, in its marketing of the AI Remover says that it generates 100% human content which can bypass all AI detection systems, particularly Turnitin and GPTZero. 

Let’s put that claim to the test. 

I asked ChatGPT to generate blatantly AI content on any topic and it did so. The text had polished grammar, sentence structure, and diction that’s typical of AI writing.

Let’s first check the AI score of the original text with Undetectable AI’s AI detector.

As expected, it was easy for our AI detector to detect almost 100% AI in the text.

Now, let’s see if EasyEssay will be able to reduce the AI score and make it human. 

EasyEssay’s AI Remover has a built-in AI-detector that lets you check the AI score before and after the paraphrasing. 

Its AI detector also flagged and declared 100% of the original text as AI-written, in other words, 0% human-written, as EasyEssay likes saying it. Apparently, the tool uses Turnitin and GPTZero for its AI checks.

Now the real question: was it able to remove AI? According to the built-in AI detector, EasyEssay’s AI Remover couldn’t make the text even 1% human.

The text was still 0% human-written after the supposed “AI removal” just like before.

Let’s see if our AI detector has changed its AI score. Turns out, it has. The text’s AI likelihood reduced from 70% to 100%. And honestly, the text does sound a little less robotic now. 

But a 70% AI score is still too high to be acceptable. So the verdict is that EasyEssay’s AI Remover fails to do its job.

Easy Writing

The Easy Writing tool has multiple functions within it.

The following are its functions and what they do:

• Create: Generates an outline for your topic
• Rephrase: Rephrases sentences slightly to convey the same thing in different words.
• Strong Rephrase: Rephrases your sentences drastically while preserving the meaning.
• Expand: Elaborates on any selected text with a paragraph.
• Plagiarism: Checks your text for originality and similarity.

I’ll be using the Rephrase, Strong Rephrase, and Expand capabilities and check their output for AI with our AI detector.

So I picked an excerpt from an old Undetectable AI article, “How to Write an Email to a Teacher” and made Easy Writing to rephrase it.

The light colored text in the screenshot below is the original text, and the other is the paraphrased version of it.

Then I checked the paraphrased version for AI with our AI detector and turned out the text has 90% AI probability.

This reveals that even EasyEssay’s paraphrase won’t be of any real help in academics.

When I wanted to try the Strong Rephrase feature, EasyEssay informed me that I’ll have to upgrade to their VIP plan to use it.

And the same for the Expand feature.

It seems you only get 1-2 free tires of these tools, after which you have to pay.

Conclusion

While EasyEssay has a nice modern website design, it has a long way to go in terms of the quality of its tools.

It markets itself as mainly a tool for academic writing, but we saw how poor quality and heavily AI its writing is. 

That’s why we cannot recommend EasyEssay as a serious writing tool. At least, not with its current performance.
